Benthos is the research arm of Pleco, investigating the dynamics of commitment networks across institutional, biological, and digital systems.
The name comes from the organisms that live at the bottom of bodies of water — the substrate layer where decomposition and renewal happen. In commitment networks, the benthos is where promises compost or take root.
